Instagram is most commonly used by millennials. It is an easy format that is based on pictures and videos and accompanied by short text posts. Some business owners easily overlook the marketing potential Instagram provides. Studies show 81% of millennials between the ages of 18 to 34 keep their phones next to their bed. This means the first thing they do when their eyes open in the morning is explore Instagram.

Instagram provides businesses the opportunity to market their products and services on a more personal level. There are about 70 million pictures and videos uploaded on Instagram every day which reach more than 300 million active users. Reaching millennials these days can be challenging with a variety of social media outlets.

It seems like a new social media app or service is created every day and millennials are the first to take advantage the service. At the moment, Instagram is the place to be for millennials and it’s holding strong. Businesses who are seeking to reach the 18 to 34 year old demographic should seriously consider opening an Instagram account and taking advantage of all the marketing possibilities.

It’s easy to get started. Fill out the profile and enter your business information. This set up takes only a few minutes! Then begin posting valuable content that is related to your business. If you offer services, try posting a short video explaining the benefits. Or, pictures showing the type of service offered. For example, if you own a printing service, post pictures of a printer alongside of visually pleasing printed documents, signs and more.

If you are a real estate agent or have your own business, post available homes, townhomes, apartments, condos and more. Include text content about the location, neighborhood, schools, parks and shopping centers. You can attract plenty of potential clients who become familiar with your services. For example, maybe someone continuously see’s your real estate postings on Instagram. Possibly six months to a year later, they may be prepared to purchase a home. They remember your continuous postings and contact you directly via Instagram.

Instagram is an excellent marketing tool when used properly. Keep your pictures, videos and content current. Post at least twice a week to keep your business and services in a constant flow. Before you know it you will be reaching millions via Instagram and growing your business faster than you could ever imagine.
